The Hazel dormouse icon of natural wood fringes

Like agile acrobats, dormice used to move throughout Limburg - from south to north - via branches and twigs through trees and bushes. With their large eyes, hairy prehensile tail, and grasping fingers and toes, they were the monkeys of the south. The dormouse has high demands on the landscape. If it is there, it is also suitable for many other animals. With this illustration, ARK illustrator Jeroen Helmer brought the world of the dormouse to life.
