The otter flagship species for water habitats
The otter is the symbol of water quality and natural riverbanks. A thriving otter population is a telltale of a healthy natural environment. ARK works with various partners to restore otter habitats and make road and waterway intersections otter-safe. Heavy traffic still causes many casualties. Simple modifications, such as walkways under bridges and wildlife tunnels, can prevent most of these accidents.
